"Banyan Tree of Hong Kong People" Election was held from September to December 2007. 12 groups of Banyan Trees were selected, based on the historical and cultural backgrounds of local Banyan Trees, and let members of the public to vote for their most memorable Banyan Tree. Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree in Tai Po is elected "Banyan Tree of Hong Kong People" with 2,286 votes. Yuen Long Kam Tin Tree House and Chinese Banyans along Nathan Road won the second and third places with 2,104 and 1,916 votes respectively. Over 10,900 members of the public cast their votes. Citizens casting their vote receive a set of limited "Banyan Tree of Hong Kong People" bookmarks.
